Larry Kopp, driver of the Accurate Binding/G-Force Transmissions Chevy S-10, won his third Pro Stock Truck race in a row today, in a Chevy vs. Dodge final. Kopp defeated Bill Henderson with an e.t. of 7.772 seconds and a top speed of 174.37 mph to Henderson's 7.887/171.55. Kopp had the edge in reaction times, .463 to .478, and powered his way across the finish line with a margin of victory of .130 of a second.

Was the win determined at the starting line?
"We had a better light than he did. We were definitely faster. We knew we had an advantage going into the final, so as long as I did my job we were in good shape."

What are your thoughts on maybe becoming the first Pro Stock Truck champion?
"When I get myself thinking about it, I know I've got to get myself away from that. We have to take this slow and easy. If we take the attitude that we are going to kick everyone's butt, it's not going to happen. We just want to go round by round, do our best, and win. I am my biggest enemy. If I make a mistake I'm going to lose. The Chevy S-10 is always ready, and ready to go fast."

On his truck's preparation:
"It's a good feeling that when I'm getting into the S-10 it's prepared 110%. Every bolt and nut is just the way it's supposed to be. We don't want to lose with some stupid mistake. That really hurts."

On being the first NHRA Pro winner at Route 66 Raceway:
"I was talking to the track owner (President Dale Coyne) and I told him that it (the track) is just unbelievable. I'm the first person to win at your new track. I'd ilke a plaque with my name on it I told him. He said we will do something better than that for you."

How much better can you get once you get accustomed to the Pro Tree?
"I will be in the high 7.4s in every run. I'm not that good right now. I'm a good driver and I get the truck down the track pretty well all the time. The starting line is difficult for me right now. Nobody can deal with that for me, I have to do it myself."

On the competition catching up:
"We knew it was going to be a matter of time before everyone would figure out the good combination. We were lucky to have an advantage in the first two races. We still have an advantage, it's not a whole lot. If I keep my driving decent and keep doing what we've been doing we will be a hard force to deal with."

Was your win ever in doubt this weekend?
"I wouldn't say it was ever in doubt. I always feel that I can win any race I go to. I never had an attitude that I couldn't win it. We were fast in Friday qualifying, I knew we would be extremely fast compared to everyone else. It goes back to the same old thing, if I do my job, they're in trouble."
