Friday's 1st Session

Morrison, CO - RIS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Fuel at the 19th annual NHRA Mopar Parts Mile-High Nationals, listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, position in order following run.:

Left Lane: Bruce Sarver Runs 5.078/285.35 Psn # 2
Right Lane: Cristen Powell Runs 4.941/285.08 Psn # 1

5:07 PM and we open with a couple of the newer drivers in
Top Fuel. Powell takes the provisional pole on that run, a nice
one, while Sarver fought hard to keep his car from crossing the
center line, killing the ET.

Left Lane: Shelly Anderson Runs 4.985/289.48 Psn # 2
Right Lane: Larry Dixon, Jr. Runs 7.116/118.46 Psn # 4

And the ladies are 1-2 right now, Dixon smoking the tires
instantly. Shelly's pass was clean, smooth, and straight, so
"daddy Brad" should have a tuning baseline for tonight's
session.

Left Lane: Kenny Bernstein Runs 5.505/232.01 Psn # 5
Right Lane: Eddie Hill Runs 4.861/295.46 Psn # 1

Both cars were strong to 330 feet, and then Bernstein's car
began smoking the tires and he pedaled it. He regained traction
briefly, then lost it again and drove the rest of the way with the
tires smoking. Meanwhile, Hill's car didn't miss a beat, all eight
firing and no trace of tire smoke at all.

Left Lane: Cory McClenathan Runs 4.810/299.60 Psn # 1

Cory Mac was on a single because this is a brand new race
car - and apparently a very good one too! The run was clean,
straight, and hot, the car "on a tightrope."

Left Lane: Gary Scelzi Runs 4.874/279.76 Psn # 3
Right Lane: Joe Amato Runs 4.999/277.17 Psn # 6

Nice matchup, the top two in points. Scelzi has not lost before
the semifinals all season long, while Amato has either won or lost
in the first round.
These two were welded together to 1,000 feet, then both
began hazing the tires, Amato more than Scelzi. They will meet
again....

Left Lane: Bob Vandergriff Runs 4.987/275.14 Psn # 7
Right Lane: Scott Kalitta Runs 4.871/296.05 Psn # 3

Scott is still driving "Dad's car," terming his own car
unmanageable. If Connie wants to race again this year he'll
have to arm wrestle Scott for this one.
Two nice passes here, no tire smoke we could see.

Left Lane: Mike Dunn Runs 4.955/230.76 Psn # 6
Right Lane: Jim Head Runs 4.983/276.41 Psn # 7

Dunn finished this run with the engine in flames, the oil trail
from a thrown rod starting just past half track. The car came to
a stop on the top end with the flames still coming from the
engine compartment. But the Safety Safari was right there, and
judging from the small amount of rice hull ash they put down in
the left lane the "diaper" did its job of keeping the parts and oil
with the race car instead of letting them get on the track and
under the tires.
Head's car started mixing the cylinders up around half track,
but there was no major failure we could see.

Right Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 4.979/280.63 Psn # 7

5:27 PM and Schumacher is the final car of the round, the
Safety Safari poised to do a major launch pad cleanup once he
makes his pass. He makes a nice pass, the car straight and
clean, all eight "candles" lit.

TOP FUEL DRAGSTER

Friday's 2nd Session

Morrison, CO - RIS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Fuel at the 19th annual NHRA Mopar Parts Mile-High Nationals, listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run.:

Left Lane: Larry Dixon, Jr. Runs 4.871/275.56 Now # 4
Best prior run: 7.116/118.46 Was #14
Right Lane: Mike Ranney Runs 9.154/ 89.33 Now #15
                       No prior time

We open with a BANG, Dixon's engine letting go in a huge ball
of flame in the lights. But he was okay and the car was not
severely damaged. In the other lane, Ranney shut it down
almost immediately.

Left Lane: Eddie Hill Runs 4.800/301.70 Now # 1
                       Best prior run: 4.861/295.46 Was # 2
Right Lane: Bruce Sarver Runs 4.813/298.40 Now # 3
Best prior run: 5.078/285.35 Was #13

Nice pass by Hill, our first 300 mph pass of the weekend.
Nice pass in the other lane too, but Hill's rocket shot eclipsed it.

Left Lane: Doug Herbert No Time Now #16
                       No prior time
Right Lane: Shelly Anderson Runs 4.935/258.47 Now # 7
Best prior run: 4.985/289.48 Was #11

Herbert's car headed for the center line and he pedaled, but
could not save it. He took out the 660-foot markers, passing
behind Anderson. Shelly was on a strong pass to half track, well
ahead of Herbert when he crossed into her lane, but her car
nosed over at the 1,000 foot marker, the engine going away.
Since he crossed the center line, Herbert's run will not count as
a qualifying attempt.

Left Lane: Joe Amato Runs 9.526/ 86.54 Now #14
Best prior run: 4.999/277.17 Was #13
Right Lane: Kenny Bernstein Runs 4.967/273.97 Now #10
Best prior run: 5.505/232.01 Was #14

This promised to be a pretty fair match, but Amato lost
traction before reaching the 330-foot reflectors. Bernstein's
engine was mixing things up, the header flames erratic and
dancing.

Left Lane: Scott Kalitta Runs 8.212/ 90.68 Now # 4
                       Best prior run: 4.871/296.05 Was # 4
Right Lane: Cory McClenathan Runs 4.788/297.61 Now # 1
                       Best prior run: 4.810/299.60 Was # 2

Once again Cory Mac knocks Eddie Hill off the top of the
ladder, a solid pass with steady header flames. In the other
lane, Kalitta overpowered the track, losing traction after about
200 feet.

Left Lane: Jim Head Runs 9.972/ 82.06 Now #12
Best prior run: 4.983/276.41 Was #12
Right Lane: Gary Scelzi Runs 9.059/ 89.85 Now # 6
                       Best prior run: 4.874/279.76 Was # 6

Synchronized, instant tire smoke, both teams overestimating
the launch pad.

Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 4.931/282.13 Now # 7
Best prior run: 4.979/280.63 Was #11
Right Lane: Bob Vandergriff Runs 10.243/ 76.00 Now #13
Best prior run: 4.987/275.14 Was #13

Vandergriff lost traction early in the run and shut it off.
Schumacher made a full pass that looked quicker than the
numbers it produced.

Left Lane: Spike Gorr Runs 7.376/105.72 Now #15
                       No prior time
Right Lane: Mike Dunn Runs 9.061/ 76.91 Now #10
Best prior run: 4.955/230.76 Was #10

Gorr launched, got aout 200 feet out, and then the engine let
go in a flash of flame. The oil dry starts right on the starting line,
so the engine started to go away almost immediately.
Meanwhile, Dunn lost traction almost immediately.

Left Lane: Glenn Mikres Runs 5.335/212.21 Now #15
                       No prior time
Right Lane: Gary Ritter No Time Now #19
                       No prior time

Haven't seen Mikres in a long time and haven't seen Ritter
before, so this one could prove interesting. Yup, Ritter came to
a stop at the end of his burnout and the chute popped out.
With the engine dead, they got him out of the car and pushed it
over against the wall so Mikres could run. Mikres' car drifted
right and almost crossed the center line, but the veteran driver
calmly pedaled it, got the car headed back in the right direction,
and he continued the run.

Left Lane: Cristen Powell Runs 4.806/288.09 Now # 3
                       Best prior run: 4.941/285.08 Was # 9
Right Lane: Vicky Fanning Runs 5.948/240.57 Now #16
                       No prior time

Fanning's car sports a pair of longhorns on the front spoiler
for the burnout, matching up well with the black-and- white
"cowskin" paint scheme. Her car launched weakly, the header
flames about 2/3 as high as Cristen's. Meanwhile, Cristen made
a nice pass, almost dislodging Eddie Hill from the second spot.
Since he's 43 years her elder, it's fitting that she gives him some
respect....
10:07 PM and all that's left is the jet limousine.

Friday's 3rd Session

FUNNY CAR

Friday's 1st Session

Morrison, CO - RIS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Funny Car at the 19th annual NHRA Mopar Parts Mile-High Nationals, listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, position in order following run.:

Left Lane: Walt Fuller No Time Psn #12
Right Lane: Mitch McDowell No Time Psn #20

4:32 PM and the first pair features a couple of less
well-known drivers. Fuller's car launched, labored a bit, headed
for the wall, and he clicked it off. McDowell made a full pass,
but the engine ate some parts on the top half of the run. The
track inspection showed no oil or other fluids, so things
continue.

Left Lane: Del Worsham Runs 12.081/ 49.44 Psn # 2
Right Lane: Al Hofmann Runs 8.646/ 95.68 Psn # 1

"Big Al" is back, but this run was not one he'll remember
fondly. Both cars lost traction after about 100 feet, Worsham
abandoning the run with parts failures, and Hofmann trying to
get back in it and fishtailing violently, finally pitching the blower
belt across the lanes.

Left Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 6.083/155.97 Psn # 1
Right Lane: Gary Densham Runs 9.094/ 95.92 Psn # 3

A quick cleanup to get all the pieces-parts off the surface
and we resume.
Densham lost traction after about 200 feet. Pedregon got to
half track, then "boiled the hides."

Left Lane: Randy Anderson Runs 5.269/275.56 Psn # 1
Right Lane: Ron Capps Runs 14.109/ 74.60 Psn # 6

Capps lost traction immediately. Anderson fishtailed a bit, but
kept the tires pretty well stuck to the strip, the engine eating a
few parts in the lights, for a good run.

Left Lane: Mark Oswald Runs 9.545/ 88.42 Psn # 5
Right Lane: Whit Bazemore No Time Psn # 8

Oswald's car kept trying to break the tires loose and he pedaled it a couple times before calling it off. Bazemore got to
half track, then smoked the tires. He pedaled it, then drove
through the smoke for a decent opening run, his speed at the
finish line not much higher than it was at half track.

Left Lane: Dean Skuza Runs 5.515/220.53 Psn # 2
Right Lane: Tom Hoover No Time Psn #10

Hoover's car would not fire, so Skuza ran solo. The car was
a bit loose in the middle ofn the run, but he avoided loss of
traction and made a full pass to tune from.

Left Lane: Chuck Etchells Runs 7.538/115.50 Psn # 5
Right Lane: Tim Wilkerson Runs 5.658/239.17 Psn # 3

Lots of tire smoke from tjhis pair...Etchells started to spin the
tires after 100 feet, pedaled it and regained traction briefly, then
lost it again around 330 feet. Wilkerson got a bit further down
the strip, but just before half track he lost traction and fishtailed
violently. Both cars were very close to the center line, but both
drivers managed to stay in their own lanes.

Left Lane: John Force Runs 5.221/275.39 Psn # 1
Right Lane: Kenji Okazaki Runs 5.411/258.69 Psn # 3

A good side-by-side drag race here, Force working on four
wins in a row at this event and looking pretty good on his first
qualifying pass. Okazaki stayed right with him to about 1,000
feet and then fell back quickly.

Right Lane: Tony Pedregon Runs 5.371/274.89 Psn # 3

5:02 PM and Force's teammate made a run that looked like
it could bump the boss off the top of the ladder, but before 1,000
feet Tony's Mustang began hazing the tires and he lost some
momentum.

Friday's 2nd Session

Morrison, CO - RIS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Funny Car at the 19th annual NHRA Mopar Parts Mile-High Nationals, listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run.:

Left Lane: Gary Densham Runs 5.509/255.68 Now # 6
                       Best prior run: 9.094/ 95.92 Was #12
Right Lane: Leonard Seroka Runs 6.588/170.39 Now #11
                       No prior time

8:52 PM and Seroka was aimed to the left at the launch,
almost crossing the center line. He had his hands full, but saved
it. Meanwhile Densham also had problems, the car spinning the
tires at half track, forcing him to pedal it twice during the run
(easy to see with the header flames in the darkness).

Left Lane: Ron Capps Runs 14.243/ 76.06 Now #17
                       Best prior run: 14.109/ 74.60 Was #17
Right Lane: Del Worsham Runs 16.086/ 64.10 Now #16
                       Best prior run: 12.081/ 49.44 Was #16

Instant tire smoke in both lanes.

Left Lane: Whit Bazemore Runs 5.619/196.37 Now # 5
                       Best prior run: 5.498/252.24 Was # 5
Right Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 6.449/144.90 Now #10
Best prior run: 6.083/155.97 Was #10

Both started on good passes, Bazemore pedaling early in the
run, but just past half track both shut it off and coasted across.

Left Lane: Tom Hoover Runs 5.289/275.90 Now # 3
                       No prior time
Right Lane: Randy Anderson Runs 6.141/152.51 Now # 2
                       Best prior run: 5.269/275.56 Was # 2

Anderson was on a heck of a pass, but his car had the
wheels up and it was headed to the left, getting very close to
the center line. Meanwhile, Hoover was on a pretty good pass
of his own, but his car also drifted toward the center line.
Fortunately Anderson lifted - while the wiley veteran Hoover
stayed with it to post a good lap and move into the top of the
field.

Left Lane: Tim Wilkerson Runs 5.439/222.55 Now # 6
Best prior run: 5.658/239.17 Was #10
Right Lane: Jim Blake Runs 11.971/ 77.88 Now #17
                       No prior time

Blake lost traction early in the run and shut it off. Wilkerson
had the same problem as Anderson and Hoover, the car getting
out of the groove and moving toward the center line. he also
pedaled it, regaining control and finishing the run.

Left Lane: Kenji Okazaki Runs 9.477/ 89.02 Now # 5
                       Best prior run: 5.411/258.69 Was # 5
Right Lane: Mark Oswald Runs 6.410/154.69 Now #12
                       Best prior run: 9.545/ 88.42 Was #15

More out-of-the-groove racing, Okazaki's car making a hard
move toward the center line, forcing him to abandon the run.
Oswald looked like he was on a good pass, but around half
track the car started moving around and he was also forced to
call it off.

Left Lane: Tony Pedregon Runs 5.186/280.98 Now # 1
                       Best prior run: 5.371/274.89 Was # 4
Right Lane: Dean Skuza Runs 5.242/287.72 Now # 3
Best prior run: 5.515/220.53 Was #10

Two very nice runs here, the cars side-by-side and the
header flames high and steady all the way to the finish line.

Left Lane: Mitch McDowell Runs 5.442/260.64 Now # 9
Best prior run: 5.510/267.93 Was #10
Right Lane: Chuck Etchells Runs 5.332/272.89 Now # 6
Best prior run: 7.538/115.50 Was #14

Both cars were strong to mid track, and then the tires started
to spin. McDowell pedaled, losing momentum. Etchells
feathered the throttle, which proved to be the right choice this
time.

Left Lane: Don Sosenka Runs 6.156/242.78 Now #13
                       No prior time
Right Lane: John Force Runs 5.516/254.16 Now # 2
                       Best prior run: 5.221/275.39 Was # 2

How would you like to be running beside a car named "Mr.
Magoo" at night? Think about it...
Sosenka's car never came up to full power, the header
flames weak and intermittent. Meanwhile, Force appeared to be
on his way to knocking Tony off the pole, but the mid-track
traction bug bit him big time and he lost all his momentum trying
to regain traction.

Left Lane: Al Hofmann Runs 5.973/170.42 Now #12
                       Best prior run: 8.646/ 95.68 Was #16
Right Lane: Keith Jackson Runs 10.098/ 86.00 Now #17
                       No prior time

Yet another infrequently-seen competitor, Jackson not
venturing far from home this season - he has zero points, so this
could be his first outing of the year. His car launched first, but
he lost traction a couple hundred feet off the starting line and
abandoned the run. Hofmann was out of the groove, to the
right, but managed to stay in his lane long enough to start
spinning the tires at half track. He pedaled once, continued,
then lost traction again and called it off.

Right Lane: Walt Fuller Runs 10.058/ 80.94 Now #17
                       Best prior run: 10.490/ 81.61 Was #18

9:27 PM and Fuller closes the round by spitting sparklers on
the starting line and shutting it down before the 330-foot marker.

PRO STOCK

Friday's 1st Session

Morrison, CO - RIS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the 19th annual NHRA Mopar Parts Mile-High Nationals, listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, position in order following run.:

Left Lane: Carl Beal Runs 7.551/181.34 Psn # 1
Right Lane: Carty Beal Runs 9.252/106.38 Psn # 2

4:09 PM and the Pro Stock Motorcycles just finished an
uninspiring round, so don't look for much from the cars this
round.
Carty went for a bit of a ride at half track, the car trying
desperately to cross the center line, forcing him to turn hard
right.

Left Lane: Dester Cambron Runs 7.603/180.61 Psn # 3
Right Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 7.549/182.00 Psn # 1

There's a run closer to what we expected, Allen's ET about
half a second off what we get at sea level.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 7.511/183.11 Psn # 1
Right Lane: Tom Martino Runs 7.528/182.62 Psn # 2

By the way, don't look for Pete Williams - here or in later
events. He's calling it quits for a while - wanna buy a Pro Stock
team???
Two nice passes here, smooth and straight.

Left Lane: Tom Hammonds Runs 7.551/181.92 Psn # 4
Right Lane: Scott Geoffrion Runs 8.137/172.51 Psn # 7

You knew Geoffrion's run wasn't going to be a good one
when the 1.21-second 60' time came up.

Left Lane: David Nickens Runs 7.533/181.92 Psn # 3
Right Lane: Mike Thomas Runs 10.908/ 85.70 Psn #10

Thomas shut it off early in the run, the problem not evident
from here.

Left Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 7.524/183.29 Psn # 2
Right Lane: Ray Franks Runs 7.840/181.12 Psn # 9

  Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 7.600/ 0.00 Psn # 8
Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 7.825/143.15 Psn #10

Coughlin called it off well before the finish line, the problem
not evident.

Left Lane: George Marnell Runs 7.468/182.55 Psn # 1
Right Lane: Brad Klein Runs 7.525/182.70 Psn # 4

Wow! Marnell fires a rocket across their bow.....

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 7.534/181.59 Psn # 7
Right Lane: Larry Davis Runs 7.622/180.86 Psn #13

Left Lane: Terry Adams Runs 7.490/182.51 Psn # 2
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 7.562/182.40 Psn #12

WJ's 60-foot time was 1.097, the same as Adams', so he lost
a lot of ground on the top end. We've been seeing 1.08 - 1.11
at 60 feet for most runs.

Left Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 8.109/136.46 Psn #19
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 7.493/ 0.00 Psn # 3

Looks like the Dodges don't have the right tuneup for their
own event....

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 7.568/180.57 Psn #14
Right Lane: Mike Bell Runs 7.696/178.21 Psn #18

And Johnson gets the "quickest Dodge" honors this round...

Left Lane: Jim Yates Runs 7.454/183.26 Psn # 1
Right Lane: Arturo Delgado Runs 7.721/177.41 Psn #20

4:27 PM and this is the last pair, a couple of left lane singles
will finish the round.
Yates continues to show the hot hand, a nice run, the car
slightly to the right of the groove all the way through.

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 7.503/183.48 Psn # 5

     Nice pass by Krisher...

Left Lane: Larry Nance Runs 7.546/181.92 Psn #12

4:31 PM and that's it until around 8 PM, on TV.

PRO STOCK

Friday's 2nd Session

Morrison, CO - RIS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the 19th annual NHRA Mopar Parts Mile-High Nationals, listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run.:

Left Lane: Scott Geoffrion Runs 7.959/173.64 Now #25

Best prior run: 7.551/181.92 Was #14

8:20 PM and based on the Pro Stock Motorcycle round just
completed, you can throw round one away. Looks like the
Dodges are still searching for the key to running "on the hill."

Left Lane: Mike Thomas Runs 7.456/182.88 Now # 2
                       Best prior run: 10.908/ 85.70 Was #28
Right Lane: David Nickens Runs 7.522/180.79 Now # 8
Best prior run: 7.533/181.92 Was #11

Two nice runs, Thomas almost catching Yates.

Left Lane: Ray Franks Runs 7.807/181.08 Now #24
Best prior run: 7.840/181.12 Was #25
Right Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 7.945/142.94 Now # 9
                       Best prior run: 7.524/183.29 Was # 9

Franks' car did a little dance on the launch. Pawuk's car
launched cleanly, his problems further down the track.

Left Lane: Troy Coughlin No Time Now #25
Best prior run: 7.825/143.15 Was #25
 Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 7.523/183.33 Now # 9
Best prior run: 7.600/181.74 Was #19

More gremlins for the Jegs' car, making the burnout, pulling
up to stage, and then the engine going silent.

Left Lane: Brad Klein Runs 7.487/183.22 Now # 4
Best prior run: 7.525/182.70 Was #11
Right Lane: George Marnell Runs 7.465/183.78 Now # 3
                       Best prior run: 7.468/182.55 Was # 3

Two nice passes, Marnell surprisingly consistent compared
with this afternoon.

Left Lane: Larry Davis Runs 7.687/180.18 Now #21
Best prior run: 7.622/180.86 Was #21
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 7.436/184.27 Now # 1
Best prior run: 7.534/181.59 Was #14

The bump is Bruce Allen's 7.549.

Morgan's run resets the track ET record.

Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 7.492/183.26 Now # 7
Best prior run: 7.562/182.40 Was #18
Right Lane: Terry Adams Runs 7.459/182.96 Now # 4
                       Best prior run: 7.490/182.51 Was # 6

Two nice runs, Davis a bit of a surprise......

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 7.445/183.93 Now # 2
                       Best prior run: 7.493/183.26 Was # 8
Right Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 7.476/183.74 Now # 7
Best prior run: 8.109/136.46 Was #27

At least one Dodge should make the show after that run...

Left Lane: Mike Bell Runs 7.825/182.11 Now #23
Best prior run: 7.696/178.21 Was #23
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 7.496/182.59 Now #10
Best prior run: 7.568/180.57 Was #20

And "the other Dodge" makes a nice pass to also apparently
make the show.

Left Lane: Arturo Delgado Runs 7.608/179.46 Now #22
Best prior run: 7.721/177.41 Was #24
Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 7.416/184.31 Now # 1
                       Best prior run: 7.454/183.26 Was # 3

The bump is now Tom Martino's 7.528.

Yates nails this one, a stunning pass to take the pole position
back from Morgan.

Left Lane: Carty Beal Runs 7.684/170.48 Now #24
Best prior run: 9.252/106.38 Was #28
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 7.480/183.89 Now # 8
Best prior run: 7.503/183.48 Was #11

Left Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 7.442/183.33 Now # 3
Best prior run: 7.549/182.00 Was #19
Right Lane: Larry Nance Runs 7.538/182.33 Now #19
Best prior run: 7.546/181.92 Was #18

Both these drivers were in the field at the start of the round.
Allen leaps back into the field, but Nance comes up a bit short
(something he's rarely accused of).

Left Lane: Steve Schmidt Runs 7.416/183.93 Now # 2
                       No prior time
Right Lane: Carl Beal Runs 7.501/183.15 Now #14
Best prior run: 7.551/181.34 Was #20

Schmidt's car would not fire for the first round, so this was his
first lap of the event. He makes a super run, even with the car
doing a little dance on the launch but posting a 1.066 second
60' time.

Left Lane: Tom Martino Runs 7.464/183.41 Now # 8

Right Lane: Dester Cambron Runs 7.557/182.03 Now #22
Best prior run: 7.603/180.61 Was #22

The bump was David Nickens' 7.522, but Martino bumped
him and put Kurt Johnson on the spot at 7.511.

Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 7.437/184.80 Now # 4
Best prior run: 7.511/183.11 Was #16

Speaking of the bubble...good speed, good ET - that puts
Carl Beal on the bubble at 7.501.

Friday's 1st Session

3:54 PM and we're running slightly ahead of schedule now
following a huge oildown in the first pair of Federal-Mogul
Dragsters (we were 30 minutes ahead).
At this altitude, a good run will be about half a second slower
than at sea level tracks.
Ayers' bike headed for the center line and he had to hang
way off the left side to stay in his lane.

Left Lane: Stephanie Reaves Runs 8.140/164.86 Psn # 1
Right Lane: Larry Cook Runs 8.217/164.89 Psn # 2

half track.

Right Lane: Greg Underdahl Runs 8.079/168.22 Psn # 3

Angelle's bike veered to the left on the launch and she had
to correct, killing the ET a bit.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 8.008/162.01 Psn # 3
Right Lane: Matt Hines Runs 8.012/168.22 Psn # 4

Left Lane: John Myers Runs 8.386/128.73 Psn #11
Right Lane: Redell Harris Runs 25.709/ 20.32 Psn #15

Myers slowed on the top end and Harris broke early in the
run, coasting to a stop just after the finish line.

Right Lane: David Schultz Runs 7.993/167.84 Psn # 2

4:08 PM and that's all for now, a short field of bikes.
