But the streak comes to an end, Gray's car shaking a bit on the pad and Smith streaking away for a surprisingly easy win against Gray's worst run of the weekend. Ledent's car was lined up a bit crooked and went toward the center line, forcing him to pedal and swerve back into the groove. That probably cost him the race, the margin at the other end just three feet. That gives lane choice to Moats in the semifinal round. But Smith launched, shook, broke something, and shut it off. (W) Vern Moats 0.475 6.101 234.37 (L) Todd Paton 0.456 6.253 217.39 Moats dodged the bullet on this one, his car getting way out of shape and swerving all over the lane, missing the center line by millimeters. He will have lane choice against Chesterman in the final round.

W/L Driver RT ET Speed (W) Cy Chesterman 0.453 5.948 238.98 (L) Vern Moats 0.520 6.054 237.90 5:15 PM and Moats was the consistent runner coming into this final round, while Chesterman has been hot and cold. This round, however, he was hot and easily bested the gritty performance by Moats today. Congratulations to Chesterman, whose hot streak continues.
