Two Division-6 hitter meet in round two. Take a look at the finish numbers margin of victory = 0.001 seconds (approximately 4 inches).
They don't come much closer than that.
 (W) Rob Wendland (URC-BAE)                 0.470     5.578 250.51
 (L) John Costanza (Uyehara-BAE)            0.463     5.887 212.03

Costanza has a couple of holes go out and that ends the day for the A-Fuel car.  Wendland goes into the semi's in great shape.
 (W) Duane Sheilds (Hadman-BAE)             0.482     5.636 248.57
 (L) Rick Henkelman (URC-BAE)               0.536     5.646 252.14

You might be able to call this race an upset but Sheilds has been very strong the last few races.  He flat buried Henkelman this time.  Sheilds will meet Dale Carlson in the semi final.

 (L) Melanie Troxel (Dragster-BAE)          0.482     6.265 188.25

Nicholson wins the battle but the outcome of the war remains in doubt.  There was a big bang from the blower just as Nicholson gets to the lights and we could see pieces comeing off the car.  It will be Wendland vs. Nicholson in the semi, if Darren 


can get the car back together.

Wendland runs about 1500 feet after a big wheel stand. His car swing wildly towards the center line and he pick it back up but just can't catch Nicholson who is gone.

 (L) Dale Carlson (Hadman-BAE)              0.496     6.361 155.01

3:39 PM After a great to mid-track Carlson bangs the blower and can't finish the run. Sheild's will meet Nicholson in the finals, who will  be in his second final round appearance in two weeks.

What a Final Round. Nicholson's hopes die with a BIG BANG in the burn out. Sheilds stages and has his own BIG BANG when he takes t5he green light. He coasts down for his first nation event win.
