Consecutive round-win streak record is latest of Manzo’s accomplishments
When a 55-year-old driver has his competitors begging him to get out of the driver’s seat, it’s usually a case of diminishing skills rather than a plea for mercy. But when that driver is 11-time Top Alcohol Funny Car world champ Frank Manzo, who is as dominant now as he has ever been, and has the records to prove it, it’s a whole different story.

The Morganville, N.J., resident recently shattered Tony Bartone’s record of 37 consecutive round-wins by increasing his total to 39 and counting with a win at the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division 1 event at Virginia Motorsports Park on May 2-3. Manzo has driven his Lucas Oil Products Chevy Monte Carlo to six national and five divisional wins since his last loss which occurred during the second round at the Norwalk event on July 1, 2007.
